Is blackjack easy to learn?

Many people find blackjack a relatively simple game you can learn in a short time. You start the game with two cards. If these happen to be an Ace and a tenner, you have blackjack and you’ve won the game. If you have less than 21 points, you may take a card or skip your turn. Everything under the 21 is good, while everything above it will cause you to loose. The goal is to approach 21 sooner than the dealer, and, of course, not to pass it. This are the basics of the game, and it’s really simple, making blackjack accessible for everybody.

When have I won blackjack?

In first place, you can already win blackjack when you start with it directly; so a point amount of 21 with just two cards. If this happens, you won’t have to continue the game. You also win when you manage to approach the 21 closer than the dealer, or if the dealer is ‘busted’ and you’re not. Busted means you pass the 21 points. When that happens, it’s game over for you. So if you passed on 18 points and the dealer is busted, you’ve won. Were you at 12 points and the dealer is busted? You also win. That is, you don’t necessarily have to keep playing towards a higher amount in order to win.

What possibilities does the game have?

Inside the game there are many possibilities. You will be shown both your own cards at the start of the game, and one of the dealer’s cards. If this is an Ace, good chance that the dealer as blackjack. Then, you can ‘insure’. In that case, if the dealer does have blackjack, you won’t loose all your money. If the dealer dit not have blackjack and you loose the game, you will loose more than your initial bet, due to the insurance. If you start with two the same cards, for example, two tens, you can split the game. This means you split this game into two games, and you’ll start each of the games with one of the tens. If you then get another ten, you can split again. This can only be done with two cards of the same value. You do need to place a new bet for each game, so if you loose the games, you will loose more than just one time your initial bet.
